On May 8th, 2024, my children and I left the home around 7:15pm to go to an event, around 7:34 I received a call from several of my neighbors that several police were surrounding my home. I was amazed at the show of extreme force outside of my home as if there was massed murderer in the home.

That night my children and I did not sleep in the home, instead stayed at a friends for safety as I didn’t know why they were there in the first place. I bought clothes in walmart for my children that nigh and they were all dropped off at school the following day by me.

The following day I went down to the Gwinnett County Police Precinct to inquire about why police were at my home, and I was informed I would need to call the sheriff’s office or visit the sheriff’s office in the jail to inquire why. Considering I was going to the Gwinnett County Jail anyway to try and reschedule the TPO hearing I decided to visit the sheriff’s office window. Under the impression they were looking for Yusuf Olatunji Fatai since it’s not uncommon for them to be looking for him to either serve a new lawsuit or something, I figured that they were there for him.

Lo and behold, the sheriff’s office’s reason for the visit was for me. Imagine my shock and surprise when I was told they had a warrant for my arrest. What guilty person goes to the police to ask questions, let alone the jail?

Due to my naivety and innocence, I was shown an arrest warrant paper signed by Judge William Brogdon stating I sent a blank email to Kathryn Taylor Franklin, arrested at the jail. I was informed that the officer would have me expedited and have me in and out of there fast requiring a bond of $600 which somehow grew to $825 because of the “expedited” treatment of my situation.

That led to 6 hours of me being held at the Gwinnett County Jail Detention Center and the most absurd accusation stemming from the frivolous ex-parte TPO action filed by Kathryn, which she’d eventually voluntarily dismiss on May 20th, 2024.

Imagine being a victim and survivor of domestic violence and being victimized by the very law enforcement you expect to help you. Imagine my feelings of being victimized by the very judicial system whose intent was supposed to resolve disputes in a just and timely manner and operate efficiently and effectively giving fairness and justice to all parties.

Instead, I found the justice system to operate like a business, a vacuum whose intent is to keep you in court for years, expand litigation, allow attorneys to have no duty of candor to the court, behave unprofessionally and ultimately show favor to parties who have way more money to wave around.

Above are my kids and I exiting the driveway of my home about 15 minutes prior to the sheriff’s office swarming my house. After the police had my house surrounded, several of my neighbors called me to ask if my children were okay and to ask why they were there.
