So I have attached a few things here, to substantiate everything I will say about the above named individual who I have found to be very unprofessional, and quite disgraceful considering the extreme lengths she has gone to cover up her weird behavior and misconduct while acting opposing counsel in my divorce case.
Before February 23rd, 2024, I had never known who Misty Leigh Carlson was or was, I didn’t know what the woman looked like nor had I ever seen her at my youngest son’s after-school karate program. She would come to the hearing (attached) stating she was representing Yusuf Olatunji Fatai while not actually filing into the case as his attorney. The following day I would later learn about 2 weeks after the fact, approximately March 10th, 2023, that her child had befriended my youngest son at the after-school program on Roblox. Some may think no big deal, but it is much deeper than that. The fact I had a TPO against her client, Yusuf Olatunji Fatai, and there was an order from the Superior Court restricting his visitation. I later learned from staff and my friends that she had only joined a few weeks prior.
On March 10th, 2023, upon picking up my youngest son from after-school karate, I would see Misty walking in after me. Though I was dressed down and wearing a face mask she recognized me, as I did, too. I thought it all odd considering the circumstances, as a mom my first instinct is to consider my children’s safety and to avoid a potential conflict considering there have already been so much conflict in my divorce proceedings and allegations made which were unfounded such as Yusuf Olatunji Fatai accusing everyone of beating him up. Obviously, I wouldn’t want any run-ins with him, or his attorneys.
Once she left the facility, and took a while to drive off. I remained with staff who would later escort my son and I to the car once it was clear she left.
I would leave towards the direction of my home and pick my mother up since she knew I was pretty petrified of the incident. We would later return with my mom, which she would further reinforce the desire to discontinue the program, considering the circumstances.
Troubled and disturbed by this incident I notified the staff and owner of the situation the same day and my intent to just withdraw my son, which they understood my reasoning. I was permitted to withdraw him that evening. Encouraged by the staff I would also document with the Snellville police regarding the incident. My son would later inform me that he knew the lady pictured son and that he asked him for his Roblox tag.
Over a year later the same attorney on May 2nd, 2024 would go before Judge Valencia Head to obtain an ex-parte TPO along with the other disgraced attorney Kathryn Taylor Franklin. Which ultimately would be dismissed as she didnt have any evidence to support her allegations.
One with common sense with think if a person was doing all the things she alleged where is your police report? Where is the evidence to support these claims? None could be produced whatsoever. Why is it that even after that failed attempt at obtaining a TPO you remain deeply invested in a case in which your unprofessional actions could likely result in loss of your license to practice law in the State of Georgia?
The same disgraceful attorney goes on to purport lies and makes serious allegations against me, in an emergency motion which were eventually unsubstantiated, and goes on to renew the motion after Judge Ronnie Batchelor decided to not hear the motion on April 9th, 2024.
In conjunction with Kathryn’s emergency motion with perpetuated lies, of hearsay unsubstantiated by an actual report from Kim Oppenheimer, and succeeded in getting temporary custody of my 3 small children ages 5, 6, and 8 for her abusive client. In there combined effort to attempt to portray me as someone I am not Judge Regina Matthews ruled in a way that is questionable at best.
Misty Leigh Carlson, the disgraced attorney, goes on to take my youngest son and oldest daughter’s cell phones on June 14th, 2024, and remand them in her possession until July 30th, 2024. What would possess a working professional to receive stolen property? I would eventually file a police report about this incident with the Gwinnett County Police. Everyone questions whether she and her client have more than a professional relationship due to the amount of extremely unprofessional behavior displayed by this attorney.
Misty and Yusuf would later go on to misinform the court on July 29th, 2024 that Misty returned the phones to my attorney. Though the Judge questioned her conduct of taking my children’s phones, after her verbal order that she wasn’t going to order my kid’s phones be taken away there was no disciplinary action or reprimand taken when she could do so. My attorney denies ever receiving the phones, after stating I would file criminal charges that evening. The following day July 30th, 2024 Misty and her client brought the phones to court.
There is a great deal to be said about the disgraced attorney Misty Leigh Carlson, who has gone to such grave lengths to protect and coddle a documented abuser who likely won’t be paying her firm another penny.
Yusuf Olatunji Fatai has such a cancerous effect on people and seems to bring out the absolute worst in people he is close to. It is a common occurrence. Only 3 attorneys saw through him and stepped away from him before it was too late.
